Knowledge of and experience in Environmental Compliance and Hazardous Materials Management
enables us to offer superior depth of services in this area to
both industrial operators and commercial industries, as well as abandoned “brownfield” re-development tracts
that require
management of abandoned waste.
-
Plastics Manufacturing Plant (Southeast,
Texas)
As a result of compliance violations related to process
waste water and storm water discharge, TGE designed and engineered a waste water treatment plant. TGE
also characterized process waste streams,
and prepared all required waste water and storm water plans
for this client (SWP3). TGE assisted this manufacturer
in instituting hazardous materials management plans for
facility operations.
-
Soap Manufacturing Facility (Houston, Texas)
TGE assisted in bringing this facility
into operational compliance in the processing waste
water, storm water discharge, and hazardous materials management
following operational violations at the facility and complaints
by neighboring facilities. TGE completed necessary plans
and provided valuable materials management
tools to maintain operational efficiency, and compliance
with local, state and federal rules and statutes.
-
Metal Plating Industry (Throughout Texas)
Due to heightened compliance requirements in the state of
Texas for the metal plating industry and TGE’s notable experience
in dealing with concerns inherent to this business sector,
TGE developed special auditing checklists and an awareness
of this industry, allowing for rapid identification
of compliance concerns and associated waste management challenges.
TGE conducted compliance assessments and waste management
plans for these facilities, both active and abandoned, across
the state of Texas.
-
Asphalt Plant (Houston, Texas Ship Channel)
Following state issuance of storm water violation notices to this
operator , TGE conductrf a compliance
audit of this plant and prepared a storm water management
plan in order to bring this client into regulatory compliance.
-
Various Concrete Batch Plants (Houston Metroplex,
Texas)
Due to Clean Water Act requirements, TGE was asked
to provide storm water management plans and testing schedules
to concrete batch operators, and assist in regulatory
compliance objectives.
-
Barge Maintenance Facility (Houston Ship Channel)
Following burial of regulated paint waste and asbestos debris
upon this property by former facility employees, TGE managed clean-up of waste materials and brought
this facility into compliance by identifying, characterizing,
removing and disposing of regulated wastes to appropriate
facilities. TGE facilitated these efforts between client
counsel and TCEQ representatives. This project has resulted
in “clean closure” of all material, and final
closure of this project with no further action.
-
National Waste Management Company (Five State
Region)
TGE conducted 350+ Petroleum Storage Tank Compliance Audits
and waste/storm water compliance reviews of hauling facilities,
transfer stations, recycling facilities, landfills and maintenance
barns. The resulting product allowed the company to prioritize facility management and anticipate budgetary
needs for future projects. TGE prepared checklists
specifically for this client/project. Additionally, TGE
conducted full Phase I and CERCLA audits for over 50 locations
prior to “roll ups” (purchases)
of like facilities to enhance its territory/customer base
across Texas and other states in the region.
-
School District Facilities (Conroe,
Texas)
For this school district, TGE conducted petroleum storage
tank compliance management (including removal and closure)
as well as asbestos inspection/consulting services to allow
for growth and construction management of its bus barns and
maintenance facilities. TGE conducted comprehensive compliance
and waste management services for this client over a period
of one year.
-
Fort Bend County Maintenance - (Fort Bend County, Texas)
Over a period of approximately three years, TGE conducted
multiple compliance and waste management projects in
this county, dealing primarily with regulated tank closure,
risk-based assessment, storm water and hazardous materials
disposal and compliance. Projects were performed for departments
such as road and bridge, vehicle/bus maintenance and the
prison system. This used facility-specific
checklists, general knowledge of state and federal rules
and regulations and working knowledge of environmental compliance.
-
Dry Cleaning Facilities
TGE conducted numerous compliance and waste management
assessments for both the dry cleaning industry and the financial
institutions that finance their operations. TGE prepared
and refined an auditing checklist for these facilities that
tracks solvent from purchase to waste stream disposal/recycle.
TGE routinely provides suggested compliance
considerations to maintain good standing with regulators.
TGE also provides best management practice suggestions to
save cost to the operation and minimize waste, and also provides
information to limit discharge/spills to the environment.
-
Private Foundation (Houston Metroplex,
Texas)
As a result of unauthorized discharge of waste upon a property
owned by a local foundation, TGE characterized, delineated and
removed more than 5,000 cubic yards of waste from this property
consistent with local, state and federal rules and regulations.
Unknown to its owner, the waste was disposed upon the property
over a period of more than 20 years. TGE’s efforts on this
project are ongoing and involve asbestos and hazardous waste
removal to regulated facilities; as well as engineering
controls to stabilize the area following removal of waste.
-
Major Hospital System - (Houston Metroplex)
As a result of growth and expansion, as well
as general day to day requirements, TGE has been retained
to assist in development of various compliance plans and
hazardous materials management documents dealing with asbestos
compliance, indoor air considerations and disposal of waste
streams generated from client-owned facilities. Since 1994, TGE
worked within this healthcare system's 16 campuses
in the Houston area, and effectively
communicated with state and local regulators to benefit
both operations and compliance status. TGE has also
been key in this clients superior Joint Commission (JCAHO)
Operational Reviews which apply to health care facility
operation. Additionally, following Tropical Storm Allison
and its ensuing flood, TGE was the lead environmental contractor
to bring the Houston Medical Center campus not only back
to operation, but managed the removal of hazardous materials
from the facility and ensured compliant operations, in excess
of $5 million in cost and within a period of 6 weeks.
-
Pension Fund as Purchaser/Mortgagee of Various Commercial/Industrial Properties (Throughout Texas,
Colorado, Florida, California, Pennsylvania, and many other
states in the U.S.)
Since 1994, TGE conducted more than 200 Environmental
Compliance Reviews for all due diligence efforts performed
for this client across the U.S. Such efforts included
simple compliance assessment, or industry-specific auditing
of active industrial facilities. TGE prepared industry-specific
checklists for this client given its diverse customer/annuitant
investment portfolio. TGE conducted compliance and waste
management consulting efforts for clients' customers within
the plastics, dry cleaning, auto repair, steel manufacturing,
high tech, and distribution/trucking industries to name
a few.
-
Local and National Lending Institutions
(Throughout the U.S.)
During the performance of real estate assessments, TGE completes
industry-specific compliance reviews and waste management
“best management practice” reviews for financial
institutions involved in lending/mortgaging, with real property
as collateral. This area of work is especially critical
within the manufacturing industry, where compliance concerns
(if present) may allow environmental impairment of the real
estate. TGE successfully performed better than 200+
summary environmental compliance assessments during due
diligence efforts for lenders.
